My dog Sushi is like family and in my eyes can do no wrong, but my husband works from home and Sushi’s barking drives him insane. We live in a condo and every time someone walks by the door she barks. He can’t have a normal phone conversation without Sushi barking up a storm. It can get quite stressful. When we saw the commercial we both just looked at each other were like we have to give it a try.
We’ve researched all types of bark-collars and sprays in the past, and none of them seemed to be effective or trained by causing pain a BIG No-No in my eyes. The BarkOff works by emitting silent ultrasonic waves that are only audible to animals. It effectively focuses the dog on the sound and it distract the dog from barking too much. It’s not supposed to be painful.
Then we saw this on the local news channel here in Buffalo and that clinched it.
It costs $10 plus S&H and you get 2 little BarkOff devices. It comes with a wall mount, and all it needs to work is a 9 volt battery (not included). You can put the second one in your pocket when your outdoors with your dog, they are not that big.
It arrived in just under 2 weeks and I am trying it out. It is touted as being safe, painless, environmentally friendly, and easy to use. That sounds good to me-if it works.. I hung the wall mount by the door and I will let you know in a week! Let me know if BarkOff worked for you.
